Things are changing around here...

Inclusive Chair Yoga

Hi there!

I trust you are happy, healthy and enjoying life!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve emailed…I’ve been a little quiet as I have been really focused behind the scenes on something really special. Some of you who follow me on socials may already know some about it, and from receiving this email and seeing a new name sending it to you, you might be getting some idea that things are changing around here…

Some of you have been part of my world for a very long time and many of you have known me as LV Chair Yoga Australia. You have joined my classes, attended workshops, invited me into your organisations, supported my journey, or trained with me over the years. Some of you have joined more recently. But wherever we've connected - through classes, workshops, teacher trainings, events, community programs, or online - I wanted to reach out and let you know what’s going on.

While Chair Yoga has always been the heart and soul of my work (and still is!), over time my understanding of what this work truly means has changed immensely and I have grown, expanded and evolved as a Chair Yoga teacher (and as a human!). And as I deepened into my own personal Yoga practice and into the true meaning of my work, I began to feel the need to spread my wings and develop something different to share with the world. And that is why my work has now evolved into Inclusive Chair Yoga.

I can not be more grateful and appreciative of my time spent working with Lakshmi (the LV of LV Chair Yoga) & Bruce (her partner), who trusted me and gave me an opportunity to share Chair Yoga as a teacher trainer - something that I never even would have imagined could be possible! Their support & love over the years has been immeasurable! But now, it’s time to take off and add my own unique voice, message and teachings into the space.

Over the past 12 years, Chair Yoga has completely changed my life. Not just professionally, but personally too. When I first found Chair Yoga, I thought I was looking for a way to better support the seniors I was teaching. I had absolutely no idea it would end up changing the way I viewed yoga, teaching, inclusion, and even myself and the world around me.

What started as a curiosity became an incredible career, and a deep passion. Then, somehow, a whole new mission!

And along the way I have had the privilege of witnessing some truly beautiful things. I've seen people rediscover confidence, I've seen friendships form, I've seen people who thought yoga wasn't for them realise there was a way for them, I've seen fear turn to hope and communities built around kindness, support and belonging.

Every one of those moments has shaped who I am and the work I do today.

Something important I realised during this evolution process was that Inclusive Chair Yoga was not just about movement. But it was becoming a “movement”. Something that not only helped people feel better physically, but something that potentially had the power to change the world - 1 chair yogi at a time!

This is a movement that began with a simple belief: Yoga should adapt to the person - not the other way around.

Over the coming weeks I'll be sharing more of my story with you. I hope you’ll enjoy taking this ride with me - I think there is something so powerful about understanding why we do what we do, which has been a big part of the process of creating Inclusive Chair Yoga.

Thank you for being part of this journey with me, I am truly grateful for each one of you!

Love Claire xx

P.S. What I’ve been working hard on is the new Inclusive Chair Yoga Teacher Training! The next one will be held this September in Sydney & livestreamed online and we also have the self-paced online version available anytime. If you’re interested, you can see more about them both here: www.getfitwhereyousit.com.au/liveteachertraining.

And I'll share more details over the coming weeks, but for now I just wanted to say hello and thank you for being here.
